Guiding and Counselling are an integral part of our School.
MKASS offers the National Curriculum, Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) , International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) from year 9 to 11 and advanced level GCE year 12 and 13. The following subjects are offered at MKASS:
Each day has 10 periods each of 35 minutes. This translates to 50 periods a week. In addition to this, there are sessions devoted to Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHEE), games and clubs. This ensures that the students are allowed to explore and exploit their talents to the full.
The Learning support Department works closely with students, tutors, parents and other agencies.
The department uses external agencies such as educational psychologists to identify learners with learning difficulties and work out strategies to help them exploit their full potential. As such it incorporates the input of learners, parents, agencies and other stakeholders in planning for their education to help them access the curriculum.
The learner’s development is tracked and necessary measures taken to help the under performing students. There are regular updates to all stakeholders to ensure efficiency of the department. Using individual education and behavior plans, strategies are worked out on how to use effective teaching to help the students.
In addition annual reviews are done to evaluate learner’s development. All students deserve a proper access to the curriculum regardless of their abilities or challenges; this department endeavors to do exactly that.

A level students enjoy a few more privileges than the others with their own common room and snack making facilities.
The uniform for A level students is slightly different from that worn by IGCSE pupils.
Private study time;
Our A-level students have plenty of private study time as recommended by the examination board.
Our A-level students are encouraged to bring laptops which are able to hook up to our wifi.
